Are DropShip Suppliers Scams or Reliable Merchants?
Well, I do have some experience with using dropship suppliers as a method for finding products to sell online (think EBay). I can tell you that when you start searching the internet, many suppliers are really just middle men who charge you a membership fee to access their site. Once inside the site, you will find that the prices are much too high for you to sell competitively on any online auction site.
Many lists of dropshoppers, like those sold for .99 on EBay itself, are worse than useless. They are outdated, and waste time. Even if the information is good, the lists really won’t get you started unless you have taken a few steps to begin your business in a …. well ….businesslike way!
Two EBay certified Drop Ship Sources
Through the Ebay and Dropshipping Guide, I found EBay certified Drop Ship Sources. Hop over there and find reviews on two different types of services that can get you started. The first one is Doba, and they are the only EBay certified drop shipping company. They do charge a membership fee, but have a free trial. The second one is World Wide Brands. Rather than being a dropshipper, they maintain a directory of actual distributors who will sell items on a drop ship basis.
If I had to pick, I’d choose WorldWide Brands, because they will be more likely to hook you up with true distributors that can save you lots of money! They also provide a huge amount of training information, both written and video, to give you a chance to be a success!
Doba is a good service, but it takes some practice to get the hang of making a product competitive with them. You need to look for a niche. You still won’t be able to purchase common consumer electronics at a low enough price to be competitive. However, they have such a huge stock of products, you can find niche items that will work for you.
Hot Tips to Start Dropshipping!
My hot tip to start your business right would be to get yourself a state taxid. You can do this online in almost every state. Just google it. Most legitimate dropshipping distributors will not work with you unless you have a tax id. Also be sure to research products so you can find a productive niche market.
