The Quick Homemade Spaghetti Solution

If you had half an hour, and suddenly found out you needed to feed 15 guests, what would you do? Of course, you’d make spaghetti, but you’d want to make it taste good too, right? I got this from an old cookbook, and have used it for years. Everybody thinks I cooked for hours. Plus, you can use really simple things that are easy to store, just in case your kid brings home five friends, or your family all shows up in time for dinner!

Have To Have:

2 Pounds of Hamburger, 1 8 oz. Can Tomato Sauce, 1 4 oz. Can Tomato Paste, Seasonings to taste (fresh is good, but dried garlic and onion will do), Spray Cooking Oil, 1 Box of Spaghetti (or favorite pasta – I like vermicelli)

Start the Pasta (if you don’t know how to boil pasta, read the directions on the box).

Brown the hamburger in a large pan, and then drain off the grease. If you are using fresh onions or garlic, you will want to saute them, but just dice them finely and throw them in the same pan after you’ve drained the grease. (Tip: when you are draining the grease, sometimes it helps to add a little water)

Then you might want to add a little cookie spray to the pan, and I always like a dash of olive oil. Stir in the tomato sauce and paste. Cook over medium heat for about five more minutes. If you like a thicker sauce, and you have time, cook for ten more minutes over low heat without a cover on the pan.

Drain the pasta, stir in the meat sauce, and enjoy!
