How To Be Posture Perfect in 5 Minutes

Womans Day magazine had a great little article about this topic. These exercises are from Teresa Tapp, creator of the T-Tapp workout method.

Posture exercises to do while sitting:

Align knees with ankles and hips, and point toes forward. Press feet into the floor until you feel your glutes (buttock muscles) tighten (hold for 4 seconds). Then lift your big toes while keeping the balls of your feet firmly on the floor (hold for 4 seconds).

Press lower back against chair and suck in tummy (hold for 4 seconds). Then lift ribs, pull shoulders back and push knees out toward little toes (hold for 4 seconds.) Repeat 4 times.

Posture exercises to do while standing:

Put most of your weight on your right leg, and slightly bend right knee. Tuck butt under until you feel tummy tighten, lift ribs and pull shoulders back in alignment with hips (hold for 4 seconds). Next, push right knee out toward little toes until you feel foot arch lift and your weight shift off the ball of your foot ( hold for 4 seconds). Repeat with left leg.
